The perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors with friends and family is here. By being mindful of our waters, we can ensure that fishing and boating remain enjoyable for generations to come! Here are some tips to keep in mind while fishing to protect our water and wildlife:
Remove visible aquatic plants, animals, and mud from all equipment before leaving the water, including hulls, interiors, and motors.
Empty motors, bilges, livewells, and any equipment holding water before departing from the water site.
Ensure everything is thoroughly dry for five days OR use a towel to clean it.
Dispose of unwanted bait, fish remains, and packaging materials in the trash; do not release live fish or other organisms from one water body to another.

We kindly ask that you obey all posted signs and markers regarding speeds and restoration areas. Boats should be cautious not to run into black rubber dredge pipes along the edges of the waterway as these are a permitted parts of the restoration project. Pipe locations are checked daily and are designed to be either submerged or marked with buoys to aid navigation.
Posted signs mean:
Idle speed – no wake
Slow Speed – boat off plane, minimal wake
Please also be on the lookout and respect the wildlife and marine life and practice passive observation.
We want to ensure the safety of everyone this week and all summer!
