March 24, 2025 Sustainable Living Podcast - Buddy Powell
"Dr. Buddy," James Powell, advocate for Florida's waterways, the manatees, and the Crystal River ecosystems, was interviewed by Anni Ellis of Sustainable Living in Tampa. He was instrumental in introducing legendary Jacques Cousteau to the manatees in Crystal River. It's a wonderful interview, speaking to how crystal clear the Crystal River was at that time, and how abundant the manatees and other wildlife was. At that time, the crystal clear waters were important for getting divers' certifications. Their work together provided the awareness of the manatees in the river. Sadly, Buddy passed away recently, but here's the link to the podcast so you can hear the interview. Thank you Anni!
